There’s a saying about Antarctica that you come for the penguins, but stay for the ice. That may be true – but those penguins are mighty cute! I know there may be some penguin fans here (looking at you, Loopy), so I put together a short playlist of all the various penguin videos I took during our time in Antarctica for you to enjoy. (I am NOT going to win any wildlife videography awards, sadly). We were so incredibly lucky with both the weather and the various wildlife sightings – we saw all the major species of Penguins that live in the Antarctic Peninsula – the Adelies (googly eye ones), the gentoos (orange beaks, most prolific), the Emperor (no introduction needed) and the chinstraps (obvious when you see them). And yes – that is us laughing AT the penguins, not with them. There is a reason they are known as “nature’s toddlers”.
And be very VERY grateful you can’t smell any of this. My nose hairs are still crispy.
